Well, that game was an unfortunate learning experience.

I really thought we were going to go to OT and steal a point. After Simmond's goal we looked really really good for a couple of minutes and controlled the pace of the game. Whole team was playing great end-to-end in that duration but that Anisimov goal gave the Hakws the momentum right back. Hopefully we can come back home for a home opener win

That was an ugly game to watch. On the brighter side, its nice to see Matt Read with 3 goals already and we've only played three games.

Its been tough to watch him struggle the last couple years.

Flyers will be looking for a bounce back game, at home.

They might just be trying to see how quickly they can get Carlyle fired

Raffl's injury seemed to be the result of a slash on the hand by Schmaltz when Raffl was driving the net.

I do not understand why the CSN broadcast team could not have found and shown that play last night after they learned Raffl would not be returning to the game. All you have to do is see when a player's last shift was then look back on the video to see what happened.

Rough game last night but I'm really looking forward to watching Konecny set up Coots for the next few years. That line could be a real force for years to come.

I'm not ready to base anything off of one game or one play, but Provorov has been unimpressive to me. Had some jitters early on in the LA game, but settled in. Was okay in the Arizona game, and looked bad last night. He's made some smart reads, but he's also made a good amount of high-risk plays that just won't work in the NHL. The giveaway on the 2nd goal was just a bad break last night, but he hasn't shown me much (not expecting him to be Ghost) overall. I'm not saying he's a bust or anything, but I want to see some more consistency as the season moves on.

The Ducks are sucking at both ends of the ice this season, no thanks to a new coach and lack of scoring left wing. Flyers should roll, but you never know. If you're in need of a defenseman, this is the chance to check out Cam Fowler, who is on the trading block. The Ducks need to clear budget, as do the Flyers (just guessing here), so perhaps a swap will happen if you can absorb some contract.

Something strange happened on the way to the Calder Trophy.

The real trick is making sure a night like last night is a learning experience for Provorov and not the start of some bad downward spiral in his confidence.

If you got a load of our blueline play last night, you'd be more confident in the Ducks' chances.

Yeah, last night was a mess for Provy. I wonder if it was nerves or just the fact that Chi has a very solid O powered by experienced vets. Definitely a learning experience, and hope he can learn from that and come back with a solid game.

Also, very encouraged by Read's play so far. Whether it's the fact that he's got his confidence back or that he's healthy, I don't know. Very encouraging to see and hear that he's also been practicing well. We need the old Matt back.

As was said, hopefully it's a learning experience and not a confidence drainer. He's a 19-year-old defenseman, so I'm going to expect some mistakes. That said, his overall game to date (only 3 games) has been, to me, uninspiring. I don't expect him to do the razzle dazzle that Ghost did, but I did expect a bit more pop from him. He's made some nice reads offensively, but overall, has struggled on both sides of the puck at times.

Abdominal pull for Raffl. Sounds like it's day to day.
